On Friday, June 15 the New York Times Metro Section featured a story about ex-convicts
who earned college degrees. It leads off with Mikki Hidalgo, a 2004 Women's Forum Educational Award Recipient, who was honored at our 30th Anniversary Celebration on November 1, 2004!
This extraordinary woman turned her life around and left an orphaned childhood, life on the streets, drug addiction and prison behind her. When she received our Educational Award she also turned around and sent a money order for $100 to The Education Fund! It was from her heart, and it was humbling.
